Cultivating Emerging Arts Leaders to “Storm the Castle!”

Posted on by Ann Marie Miller, Executive Director, Art Pride NJ Foundation

New Jersey Emerging Arts Leaders are planning a fun statewide networking event on July 15 to expand the network and begin new creative conversations.

The network targets arts professionals who are under 35 years of age or with less than 5 years of experience in the field, including early-career arts administrators, artists, current students and professionals who may be coming into the field as a subsequent career.

To celebrate Bastille Day, events will be held in three locations–Morristown, Trenton and Hammonton from 6-9 pm. Since all of the events will be happening simultaneously, they will be connected virtually through VINE, offering attendees an opportunity to experiment with the new video app.  Vine videos will be shared at each location through Twitter and Facebook throughout the evening, so even if you’re not an “emerging” leader, you can still join in on the fun! Search for the hashtag #NJEAL on all social media apps on July 15! And, in keeping with the French theme, a contest for THE BEST FRENCH MOUSTACHE will be held, and is certain to guarantee that creative spirits will abound.  Supplies will be provided at each location for last-minute moustaching.

The New Jersey Emerging Arts Leaders Network is a program of ArtPride NJ Foundation and a chapter of the Americans for the Arts Emerging Arts Leaders Network that aims to identify and cultivate the next generation of arts leaders in New Jersey through professional development and peer networking opportunities on the state and regional level.  Through these efforts NJEAL works to improve the field by strengthening inter-generational communication and cultivating emerging leaders, while making its own significant contributions.  The network strives to promote partnerships and relationships within New Jersey’s arts community and highlight the depth,  variety, and accomplishments of New Jersey’s arts organizations.

So, please spread the word to anyone you know who may be an emerging arts leader and provide this Eventbrite link to register by July 10.  This is a great opportunity to make some new friends, share stories, and have some fun!  And discussion will begin to inform the next Creative Conversations event in October during National Arts & Humanities Month.  Please visit the  ArtPride New Jersey website for more information on this program, and a link to the NJEAL membership application. You can also check out the NJEAL Facebook page for more insight into the activities of this dynamic group of young professionals.
