We’re interested in Bill Somerville and Fred Setterberg’s book “Grassroots Philanthropy: Field Notes of a Maverick Grantmaker” (Heydey Press), which argues that foundations are overly bureaucratic and cautious and ought to respond more quickly to the needs of their communities with bolder and more creative grantmaking.
