What they do:
Cooper’s Ferry Partnership is committed to leveraging crucial economic development, using strategic planning to lay the groundwork for major redevelopment projects & initiatives in a revitalized Camden.
The nonprofit corporation is dedicated to bringing people together through creative placemaking programs that utilize arts and creativity to enliven vacant properties and public spaces in neighborhoods. Like the pop-up skatepark it worked alongside the community to build, the tablecloth (the longest in America) artists and residents came together to sew in preparation for a community feast, and events like the return of drive-in movies, yoga in the park, and free concerts. And its SMART initiative is a national model for community engagement in stormwater management.
What makes them great:
Cooper’s Ferry Partnership is excited to watch Camden’s growth into a modern metropolitan city. While the City’s history is noted for its challenges, its future is marked by the commitment of its community, business owners, and civic leaders to a brighter future. Camden’s economic base is strengthened by its ever increasing number of both large and small businesses. The arts community continues to grow with the addition of a City Symphony and area art shows. Parks, trails, and greenways are currently under renovation and creation, increasing the recreational opportunities within city borders. Communities are working together to redevelop their neighborhoods. Federal and State funds are being utilized to repair infrastructure, utilities, streets, and homes. CFP is working with the City and the Community to assist in all of these efforts, and more.
