Festival News: Big Announcements Today!

Posted on by Dodge Poetry Festival

Today is a big milestone as we gear up for the 2012 Festival.  We wanted to let you know where to find all of the exciting new information we’ve released today, all conveniently in one place:

  • The full program schedule is now available here.  It includes information about every event (and there are over 100 of them!) at the 2012 Festival.  You’ll be able to see when poets are reading and what discussions are taking place throughout the four days of the Festival. Start planning your Festival now.
  • We have just launched the Festival App, which you can learn more about here and get sent to your phone here.   For the first time ever, we’ll have a Dodge Poetry Festival App, for iPhone, BlackBerry or Android, as well as iPads and iPods, which will help you plan your Festival, get up to date information, and connect with social media.
  • Single Full-Day Tickets are now on sale.  These tickets get you into a full day of programming—from the morning through the evening event—and cost less than buying a day pass and an evening pass for any given day.  Ticket prices are below, and they are on sale at www.njpac.org or by calling the NJPAC Box Office:  888-466-5722. You can see more information on our Ticket page.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday Single Full Day Admission

General $40.00
Senior/Teachers with ID* $36.00
Students with ID & Newark Residents* $20.00

(Four Day passes and Weekend Passes are on sale and save you even more money.)

Did you hear about the Festival’s Door to Door Service?

When you buy your Festival ticket, you can also buy your NJ TRANSIT Round Trip ticket for only $10, or your NJPAC Parking Pass.  The NJ TRANSIT ticket will get you from your home station to Newark Penn Station and then from Newark Penn Station to NJPAC on the Newark Light Rail—a clean and quick ride.  More info is here.

Or if you’re coming in from out of town, we’ve set up special hotel rates for area hotels, many of which are offering free Festival shuttles to get you from your hotel to NJPAC.  You can have a car-free Festival experience! More info is here.

  1. Jim O'Rourke says:

For me, the Poetry Festival is The Fourth of July, Christmas, and my birthday all rolled into one. I can’t wait to get there. This will be my fourteenth festival, and Newark is a sensational place for it. Thanks to Martin Farawell for his dedication and hard work.

  2. We are located in Alabama and sadly will not attend the festival. Is there any way for my students to set up a time to Skype with some of the poets? Or have a live stream video? Or any other ideas you might have to connect in real time with the festival?

  3. Michele Russo says:

    Hello Debbie,
At this point, we do not have the ability to Skype or have a live stream. If something changes, you can be sure we’ll announce it on our blog, Facebook and website.

  4. Michele Russo says:

Thank you for your comment Jim and your enthusiasm for the Newark location. We are just as excited as you!
