At today’s 2012 Festival Press Conference, we had some big announcements to make with the help of NJPAC and Newark’s Mayor Cory Booker. It was a wonderful day with a lot of exciting updates about the 2012 Poetry Festival.

Patricia Smith, who will be performing from her book Blood Dazzler accompanied by musicians from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, performing Wynton Marsalis’s “At the Octoroon Balls” string quartet
How Do I get Tickets?
In addition to this, we are excited to announce that Weekend and Four Day Passes are now on sale for the 2012 Festival! While you’re getting your tickets, you may want to take a look at our Accommodations page – we have a lot of great Festival rates set up for you in hotels near the Festival footprint.
How Can I Get There?
We are also grateful to our friends at NJTransit who have offered a Poetry Festival Special Rate of $10 round-trip fare to Downtown Newark from anywhere in New Jersey or New York Penn Station. This also includes use of the Newark Light Rail and Downtown Newark Buses. Help us to Green the Festival by opting for public transportation!
